Terms of Use
Effective October 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Paksys Software LLC ("we", "us") for using the Lastwell app ("Lastwell", "the app"). By downloading or using Lastwell, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Not financial advice
Lastwell gives estimates for planning only. It isn't financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and we aren't your financial adviser. Results depend on the assumptions you enter, assume the same return every year and use average life expectancy. Real markets, inflation, taxes and lifespans vary, so actual results will differ. Consider talking to a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
2. Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Lastwell on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
3. Lastwell Pro
Lastwell is free to use, with optional paid features called Lastwell Pro. Pro is available as:
- A yearly subscription. It may start with a free trial for eligible new subscribers. At the end of the trial, and then every year, your App Store or Google Play account is charged the yearly price shown at purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged within 24 hours before each renewal.
- A one-time lifetime purchase that unlocks Pro without a subscription.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, and Lastwell's Settings has a link there. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy, and may vary by country. If we change the subscription price, the store will tell you in advance as its rules require.
Payments, refunds and billing are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We can't issue refunds ourselves; please ask Apple or Google.
Where the store supports Family Sharing, eligible purchases may be shared with your family group.
If Pro ends, nothing you made is deleted. Pro-only features stop working, and plans beyond the free limit become read-only until you have Pro again.
4. Your data and backups
Your plans are stored only on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for keeping backups. Encrypted .lastwell backups can only be opened with the passphrase you chose; we can't recover a lost passphrase or a lost device's data.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Lastwell in a way that breaks the law or the rules of the store you got it from, or that interferes with the app or its purchase service.
6. Ownership
Lastwell, its design, text and code, and the Lastwell name belong to Paksys Software LLC or its licensors. Life expectancy estimates use U.S. life tables published by the National Center for Health Statistics. The plans you create are yours.
7. No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Lastwell is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, profits, savings or data, arising from your use of Lastwell or from decisions you make based on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to Lastwell is limited to the amount you paid us for Lastwell Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
9. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support, or any claims relating to it. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and aren't on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using Lastwell at any time by deleting it. We may stop offering the app or end your licence if you break these terms. Sections 1 and 6 to 11 continue after these terms end.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to rely on its protections.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Lastwell after a change means you accept it.
